Behavioural Scientist
The Behavioural Scientist is responsible for creating customer engagement campaigns for Symend clients and optimizing these campaigns to nudge customers toward self-treatment and better payment Behaviour.
They will draw on their expertise and knowledge consumer behaviour, Behavioural Science theories and tactics, and leverage predictive models, research, A.I, and machine learning to drive successful strategies around customer messaging, delivery, and treatment.
The Behavioural Scientist is also responsible for contributing to IP development through the re-use of previously successful interventions where possible, as well as designing and documenting new interventions applied for re-use by other team members. They will also contribute to the creation of standardized templates and documentation to support consistent, scalable delivery across the Behavioural Science team. They will collaborate with other Behavioural Scientists to extract learnings from the application of strategies across clients, for the purposes of Behavioural Science practice improvement, IP development, and the development of new platform features and tools.
What You Will Be Doing:
Designing behavioural science-based engagement strategies using Behavioural economics, social psychology, data models, and Symend’s frameworks to drive customer Behaviour change.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility, alignment with client goals, and optimal delivery of engagement solutions.
Creating and maintaining standardized templates, frameworks, and documentation to support consistency, quality, and scalable delivery across the Behavioural Science team.
Conducting root cause analyses and leveraging insights from peer review, performance data, and cross-client learnings to optimize treatments and inform best practices.
Contributing to IP development by reusing and documenting effective interventions, curating cross-client learnings, and identifying opportunities for platform enhancements.
Presenting behavioural science strategies and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, incorporating feedback and educating others to build buy-in.
Advising product teams with insights to support product development and the integration of behavioural science into platform features.
Mentoring peers and contributing to the growth of behavioural science capability within the organization.
Communicating insights and recommendations through compelling storytelling, tailored to senior leadership and non-expert audiences.
What You Will Need:
Strong background in psychology, behavioural economics, or consumer research.
3+ years’ experience working in roles involving:
Working with, and presenting to, external stakeholders or senior business leaders
The application of behavioural science to design interventions intended to drive behavioural change, and/or better understand human behaviour
Experience and expertise in collections and financial services is an asset.
Experience presenting to C-suite, and senior leadership level stakeholders (internally and externally) is an asset.
