The Performance/Automation Quality Engineer will conduct performance tests and write automated tests. This role requires a solid understanding of test automation frameworks, performance benchmarking, API testing, third-party integrations, and distributed systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of our applications through both manual and automated testing strategies. 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites for a system built based on microservices-based architectures. The candidate should be proficient in designing automated tests that address the complexities of distributed environments—such as network latency, fault tolerance, and eventual consistency. Experience with variety of testing tools and frameworks is essential, as is the ability to embed automated testing within modern CI/CD workflows to support rapid and reliable delivery. 

Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Design and automate a broad range of quality assurance tests, including performance (load and stress), functional, service integration, and unit tests. 
  • Develop and execute performance, automation, and quality assurance test plans. 
  • Conduct performance testing using in house or third-party tools such as LoadRunner and JMeter 
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright. 
  • Perform API testing using Postman. 
  • Integrate and test third-party services and APIs.  
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on performance and quality metrics. 
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues. 
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations. 
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies. 
  • Collaborate with development teams using GitHub for version control and code reviews. 
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline using GitHub and Azure DevOps. 
  • Utilize Jira for tracking and managing defects and issues. 
  • Work closely with developers to resolve issues and improve software quality. 
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working alongside development teams, writing and providing guidance to write automated tests. 
  • Experience using performance testing tools and frameworks. 
  • Proficient with testing frameworks such as LoadRunner, JMeter, K6, Playwright, and others for performance and end-to-end testing. 
  • Experienced with development and collaboration tools such as Jira, GitHub, Postman, Azure, and various third-party integrations. 
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
